Engineering Projects Parents Will Hate
Challenge students to think, apply, build, calculate and explain with physical science and engineering projects that excite students and drive helicopter parents crazy. Topics include timing devices, rubber band cars, towers, eggcrafts, pop up books and photography. All projects have been student tested and allow success by students willing to build, experiment and create. Allow that 25% of the population that blanks out on tests to meet success through alternative assessments.

Engineering Projects with Wood and Paper
Learn simple but classic building techniques to build towers, bridges, cars and planes used in class as projects to apply concepts, practice calculations and communicate about what was learned. Lessons plans to use students will be shared. The methods are simple while the results from students are limited only by creativity. Participants will build and apply the techniques during the session. Building materials are limited and serious participants will bring a tube of superglue and a pair of fingernail clippers.

Physical Science Demonstration – Fun, Exciting, Memorable and Messy – What more could you want?
A mix of physical science demonstrations using household materials and tools covering topics such as inertia, forces, momentum, magnets, electricity, circular motion among others. This is a session for teachers willing to get students up, moving, excited and learning. Amaze your students and entertain the masses. Cover concepts with simple but memorable ways. You will be asking for a sledge hammer for you next birthday.

You Can’t Copy and Get Away With It - Creative Processing and Writing in Science
ACE student understanding in science by using Art, Creative writing and Explanations of content. Get students excited about doing and explaining. Demand creativity, color and conceptual development and you will get it. Participants will get copies of a multitude of special processing activities.  Then practice Creativity on Demand (it isn’t easy) to understand the depth of understanding needed by students when using activities. Be ready to think outside the box, add color and fun to learning.
